Situated in the heart of the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 786 meters, the village of Kaprun is laying between the lovely Salzburgerland and Hohe Tauern National Park, Europe’s second largest natural reserve. This is where Austria’s highest mountain, the majestic Grossglockner, stands at 3798 meters.
Thanks to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (3203 m), the wide glacial slopes, magnificent alpine views and a great variety of winter sports are already available in the autumn. This is the only glacial skiing area in the land of Salzburg and guarantees snow from the autumn until the beginnig of the summer.
Kaprun is part of the “Europa Sports Region” and works hand in hand with Zell am See for tourist activities. You can participate in a large variety of sporting, cultural and outdoor events in this area.
HAUS TIROL, our modest (24-32 beds) and cozy guesthouse is located in the southern part of the village, as close as 5 minutes by foot from the village square. Its central position makes it easy for everyone to access the restaurants, bank, post-office, and entertainment areas. Several shops are conveniently located within walking distance.
Both the regular bus service and the ski bus stop are next to the guesthouse. Hiking trails and bicycle paths can also be found in the close neighborhood. The beginners and children ski slopes, and ski lifts are situated just around the corner.
We are partners of the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card, which includes the full package of holiday experiences in combination with many advantages and discounts. https://www.zellamsee-kaprun.com/en/activities/summer/summer-card
